Training Philosophy
I believe every horse should be developed as an individual, with a focus on building confidence and teaching them to think rather than simply react. My goal is to create a horse that understands pressure, responds willingly to light cues, and carries that understanding forward into every stage of training.
I prioritize establishing a strong foundation—these building blocks are what determine a horse’s long-term success. Each horse must be confident and proficient in their base knowledge before advancing. When they are truly ready, I move forward in a way that sets them up to succeed, not just comply.
I aim to develop horses that are quiet, calm, and confident, yet willing and responsive when asked. I value the quality and correctness of a reining-based foundation, while avoiding a “robotic” feel. The end goal is a horse that can think, stay soft, and work with a rider—whether that’s watching a cow, navigating the trail, or handling everyday ranch work—while still respecting and following cues.
Training timelines vary from horse to horse. I am fully transparent about each horse’s strengths, as well as the areas they may struggle with, so expectations remain clear throughout the process.

Background & Approach
My background includes ranch sorting, cutting, versatility, trail work, and practical ranch applications. I have competed varring amounts in ranch sorting, cutting, and versatility, and I bring that well-rounded experience into my program.
My approach draws from a wide range of respected horsemanship methods and techniques, allowing me to adapt to each horse and situation. I believe in having a full “toolbox” and using what best helps the horse understand and progress.
My Goal
Above all, my goal is simple:
a safe, confident, and capable horse—for you and your horse to be successful.
